This New Carafe-Slash-Coffee-Brewer Could Be the Future of Drinkware

People love combo items. For those with small kitchens or limited counter space, an item that can perform multiple tasks while taking up minimal real estate is priceless.

Miir has been growing its reputation in the drinkware space, creating plenty of aesthetically pleasing and functional pieces for coffee drinkers, and has been involved in the branding space by offering its products for logo placement.

The latest item is a carafe that also brews coffee, making it an all-in-one luxury morning item. The Standard Carafe is a heat-retaining carafe that doubles as a pour-over brewer, and it’s currently being funded on Kickstarter.

People obviously want it to hit the market, because as of writing it has raised more than $93,000 after Miir sought $50,000 in funding.

According to Sprudge, it’s also made with double-wall stainless steel and holds two cups of coffee. When you’re done brewing, you can unscrew the brewer top and affix the lid, which is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, appealing to those who want an eco-friendly bonus with their products.

Whether or not the Standard Carafe becomes the next big thing in branded coffee is unclear. But, the overwhelming support it received on Kickstarter says a few things that distributors can take away.

Luxury goods, or products with a high perceived value, will be in high demand. They don’t have to be made by a company like Miir, but they should look like they won’t fall apart, and have a full branding experience from the unboxing to the first use.

The second point is that people want items that can do multiple things. You see it in tech, where multi-use items are all the rage. This combines coffee brewing and storage in one very attractive package, and it also includes a piece that keeps it warm.

It’s not overly complicated, but it accomplishes goals, looks nice and fits nicely in a small-ish package.
